Gregory Karachuk, Managing Director
Greg has worked in investment banking and financial services for over 20 years in London, Warsaw and New York and has been active in Europe, focusing on the new members of the European Union, since 1991. He provides a perspective that combines true local and regional expertise with London and New York skill sets. His primary areas of expertise include project advisory and execution, financial modelling and valuation, capital raising and corporate financial advisory. His clients have included major regional power generators, project developers, banks, private investors and industrials.
Previously, Greg worked at Bank of America in London where he focused primarily on "New Europe" energy and power transactions leading the advisory teams for the €880m merchant financing of PGE Elektrownia Bełchatów S.A., the privatization of the Romanian distribution companies Electrica Oltenia S.A. and Electrica Moldova S.A. and the $1.75b re-structuring and re-financing of Slovenske elektrarne a.s. prior to its privatization, among others. Prior to joining Bank of America, he worked in Warsaw, Poland at CA IB Financial Advisors where he led privatization, restructuring, debt advisory and acquisition advisory transactions and as CFO and COO of the Polish-American Mortgage Bank, Poland's first successful private mortgage bank.
He has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Bachelor of Sciences degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.
